Local Area Network (LAN) is simply a network of several data, or audio points in a small area that are linked so they can communicate with each other on the Network and share resources. The most common types of LANs are those networking several Computers in an office. LANs spans relatively small area and are confined to a single location such as rooms, a floor of a building or the whole building.

Infosource can build for you a LAN with the resilience and management that your business needs to deploy powerful voice, data applications.

So whether you require a new LAN in your building or require a Network “Health check” on your current LAN, Infosource will offer you an unbiased and objective solution that meets both your business needs and develops your network.

Infosource specializes in building the followings LANs depending upon your requirements.
Structured cabled LAN

Structured Cabling replaces multiple wiring with a single infrastructure which carries voice and data in any format. It seamlessly converges voice, data, Internet access, multimedia and network services.

Infosource provides a variety of services such as installation and termination of Cat5e and Cat6, installation of data cabinets, patch panels, switches, cable management etc. The result is one unified structured cabled LAN system which converges voice and data in all formats, allowing people to access the applications they need.

Upon completion; the whole LAN is tested using a Fluke DSP4100 level 2 analyzer to ISO 11801 specification. We provide a full documented report for the whole installation.

Infosource uses only industry-standard technology and practices. We proudly feature:

1. Category 5e (CAT-5e) and Category 6 (CAT-6), or fiber optical wiring, jacks, and patch panels.
2. Concealed network installation, using exterior plastic runway trunks or interior channels (where available), and CAT5e/CAT6 certified RJ-45 jacks in standard wall boxes.
3. 10/100 megabit and gigabit Ethernet switches.
4. Standard 19" network racks in 9U, 12-U, 15-U, and 42-U sizes, with accessories including locking doors, removable access panels, shelves, fans, UPS, and more.

Wireless LAN (WLAN)

Wireless LAN or WLAN is a wireless local area network, which links two or more computers without using wires. WLAN utilizes spread-spectrum or OFDM (802.11a) modulation technology based on radio waves to enable communication between devices in a limited area. This gives users the mobility to move around within a broad coverage area and still be connected to the network.

A wireless network connects your laptops, desktops and computer peripherals, allowing you to share files, simultaneous Internet connections and the network without using any cables. With wireless you have added freedom to move from one location to another and can add additional users cost effectively. With a wireless network you can expand your business and retain your investment, add users without the need for timely cable installations and move premises and take the network with you. You can install a network in hard to wire locations where cabling is costly or not allowed. Wireless Networking is the most adaptable technology for multiple environments - whether it is at home or in the office.

Benefits and key features of WLANs:

1. Mobility and flexibility: Wireless LANs let you extend your network to every inch of your building.
2. Installation speed and simplicity: Installing a wireless LAN system can be fast and easy and can eliminate the need to pull cable through wall and ceilings.
3. Installation flexibility: wireless technology allows the network to go where wire cannot.
4. Reduced costs of ownership: Cost of wiring is eliminated. Long term cost benefits are greatest in dynamic environments requiring frequent moves and changes.
5. Scalability: Wireless LAN systems can be configured in a variety of topologies to meet the needs of specific applications and installations.
6. Faster, cheaper and more secure than ever before.
7. Wireless offers fast deployment: there are no site licenses to obtain, cables to run or trenches to dig. With a wireless LAN you can be transmitting data in a fraction of the time needed to install a wired connection.

If your network needs a wireless solution, Infosource can design, build and maintain it. We specialize in wireless LAN, point-to-point bridges, and even point-to-multipoint solutions for distributed office/business environments. Our designs encompass a wide range of needs, from large enterprise to small/medium business and home use.
